Summarizing her experience at a writers conference in April 2006, Jeanette Hardage highlighted a session that she attended by songwriter and author Michael Card on “The Christology of Creativity, ” where Card emphasized that lack of humility is the greatest hindrance to creativity. Jeanette certainly took this ethos of humility to heart as she pursued her craft as a writer, to the point where even some of those close to her did not know the full extent of her efforts and thus could not celebrate all of her many small successes while she was still with us. As she explained in a letter to an editor friend in 1998, her greatest satisfaction in writing came from the act of writing itself, not from any accolades that she might receive from others.
The JeanetteHardage.com website, sponsored by the Hardage Literary Trust, is intended to offer a way for people to continue to engage with her writing and, even though she is beyond the grave, perhaps to experience some of the joy she took from it. We will share insights into her thought process, and uncover some of her hidden gems–especially items not available in print or online, including some previously unpublished work products. In addition to following this blog, you can also stay in the conversation by signing up for our newsletter, and by sending your own relevant contributions to info@jeanettehardage.com.
I appreciate and wish all the best to the Hardage Literary Trust. Jeanette will always remain in her own special place deep in my heart.
Thank you for the kind sentiments. Blessings on you and yours!
